Currency originally was a small Drupal module to fetch and display currency exchange rates. I rebuilt the module from scratch, with flexibility, reusability, and quality control in mind. Version 2 is now a completely pluggable API that allows applications to display prices in a format that is familiar to their users, and that provides general currency information and currency exchange rates using any web service you want.
I contribute back to the Drupal community by publishing modules, writing documentation, organizing events, and giving presentations and workshops. This page displays the highlights of my give-backs to the community thanks to which I have a great job. It is part of the /drupalgive initiative.
Stichting Drupal Nederland is The Netherlands' official Drupal foundation, which I founded in 2010 to facilitate the growing DrupalJams, The Netherlands' Drupal conferences.
Drupalcon is the official international Drupal conference, held in a different location every time. I have been responsible for organizing the scholarships handed out to contributors since Drupalcon Copenhangen in 2010.
Dinner with Drupal is a regular meetup held in Enschede, The Netherlands. The goal is to bring together Drupal professionals and enthusiasts in an informal fashion.
During the Drupalcons Munich 2012 and Portland 2013, Prague 2013, and Austin 2014 I was one of several seasoned Drupal developers teaching newcomers how to contribute back to Drupal core.
